globalization. good or evil?

The great debate about globalization. Is it good or is it evil? I think the answer differs depending on what side of the fence your standing on cause there are two sides to every story. In my opinion, there are some good points to globalization. It does bring job opportunities to other parts of the world, this sounds like such a good thing, but often times it is failed to be mentioned that these jobs come with terrible conditions, outrages hours, and an income that a panhandler makes more than. But some would like to argue that these people should be grateful for even that small amount of money, because they would be getting even less if it weren't fer the spreading of globalization. Not only does globalization bring job opportunities to these "under developed" countries. It destroys jobs for the natives of that country. Once globalization moves in, it becomes difficult for the little tea shop down the street to compete with Starbucks.
The part of globalization I really don't understand is why is America so sure of its ways and is in such a hurry to push its ways down everyone else's throat. I mean in all honesty, everyone wants to say how developed America is, and we do have it pretty good out here, but at the same time, we are billions of dollars in debt, run by corrupt politicians, majority of the people are obese, foreclosure signs are the new for sale signs. So who's to say that our ways our really better than these "under developed" countries. Who let the deaf, blind, and dumb call the shots around here? And America takes  globalization as  a one way street. Everything is fine and dandy when other countries are accepting our ways, but America doesn't want anything to do with theres; unless it can somehow take their idea for there own and make mass profits off of it.
The pros and cons of globalization can be argued back and forth for hours. But when it comes down to it, I think people forget that globalization is not just merely the spreading of businesses. It deals with people, and it affects their lives greatly.

I think we all need to refer back to the golden rule, treat others as you would like to be treated. But I guess I'm just not cut out to be a businessman.
